Four women arrested in felony shoplifting case at Macon Bath & Body Works

Deputies said a call came in to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center around 11:03 a.m. Monday reporting multiple women concealing merchandise inside store bags.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Several suspects were arrested in connection with a shoplifting investigation at Bath & Body Works on Presidential Parkway, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said a call came in to the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center around 11:03 a.m. Monday reporting multiple women concealing merchandise inside store bags. The women fled in a dark Honda Accord.

A witness and an investigator located the vehicle in a parking lot in the 3500 block of Mercer University Drive. Deputies arrived and arrested the suspects without incident. Authorities said all of the stolen merchandise was recovered.

The suspects were identified as 28-year-old Dondrea Katia Sallad, 32-year-old Yarshae Remairia Dent, 30-year-old Nigeria Lashaine McClendon and 34-year-old Ashele Shana Floyd Syed.

The women were taken to Investigations Headquarters before being transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Sallad was charged with felony theft by shoplifting and was also wanted in Bibb County for four previous shoplifting cases. McClendon was charged with felony theft by shoplifting and was wanted in connection with a prior case. Dent was charged with felony theft by shoplifting and probation violation. Syed was charged with felony theft by shoplifting.

All four are being held without bond.
