Four Former Macon Bacon Players Called Up To The Big Leagues

MACON, Georgia – (41NBC/WMGT) – This years Major League Baseball draft featured 615 players being selected. Of those 615 athletes, four former Macon Bacon players were selected.

2023 Macon Outfielder Patrick Clohisy from St. Louis University was the first former Bacon player to be selected in this years draft. The Braves picked Clohisy in the 11th round with the 341st overall pick.

2023 Bacon Utility player JR Freethy from the University of Nevada was picked up by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 14th round with the 427th overall pick.

2024 Outfielder Kasen Wells from Weatherford College was selected in the 16th round by the San Diego Padres with the 480th overall pick.

2023 Macon Shortstop Nolan Clifford from Creighton University went to the Colorado Rockies in the 17th round with the 498th overall pick.
