Four Charged in Theft of Ice Cream, Drinks from Smiley’s Flea Market
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb Sheriff Deputies arrested four suspects in connection with a burglary that took place at Smiley’s Flea Market Tuesday morning.
A release from the sheriff’s office says the suspects entered the flea market and stole ice cream bars and bottled drinks. Deputies found the items in coolers in the suspects’ vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was in possession of a .40 caliber Glock handgun. Deputies also found two extra magazines loaded with ammo on the inside of the vehicle. Ski masks, hand gloves, walkie-talkies, tools and a stolen floor jack were also recovered.
Deputy Shane Howard says he was patrolling near the flea market and noticed a black Acura Integra parked in front of Auto Air at the corner of Liberty Church Road and Hawkinsville Road.
Remembering the vehicle from a traffic violation stop a few days prior, he approached the vehicle and noticed its engine was still warm. Howard and another deputy waited in their vehicles across the street to see if the occupants returned to their vehicle.
Four men ran from Smiley’s Flea Market toward the black Acura. The deputies blocked the entrance to Auto Air’s parking lot before the suspects could leave in their vehicle, and the suspects were apprehended.
The four were taken to the Bibb Law Enforcement Complex.
Takelvin Jadon Raines, 21 from Macon, is the owner of the vehicle. He was charged with Theft by Receiving-Felony, Possession of Burglary Tools, Burglary, Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Felony, and Driving with Suspended Registration. Raines is currently being held at the Bibb County LEC with a $20,860.00 bond.
Tony Tabrian Burnette, 19, from Macon, was charged with Theft by Receiving-Felony, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Burglary. Burnette is currently being held in the Bibb County LEC with a $14,900.00 bond.
James Anthony Davis, 18, from Macon, was charged with Theft by Receiving-Felony, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Burglary. Davis is currently being held in the Bibb County LEC with a $14,900.00 bond.
Terrell Theo Burnette, 17, from Macon, was charged with Theft by Receiving- Felony, Possession of Burglary Tools, and Burglary. Burnette is currently being held in the Bibb County LEC with a $14,900.00 bond.
