Fountain flows again at Tattnall Square Park

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – For the first time in over 80 years a flowing fountain is present in Tattnall Square Park in Macon.

The Friends of Tattnall Square park held a special celebration in honor of the “Peace” fountain.

The fountain made it’s return thanks to a little and her book stand, the Friends of Tattnall Square, and the Macon-Bibb government. The fountain made it’s way back to Macon in September. The crown jewel has not been in Macon in 45 years.

Charise Stephens with the Friends of Tattnall Square Park says park goers will have new experience every time they visit the fountain. It took about $350,000 to recreate the fountain.

The fountain is surround with engraved bricks purchase by Macon residents.
