Students say rats, snake and lizard found inside Fort Valley apartments
Students say they’ve seen rats, a snake and a lizard inside their apartments and claim calls to management often go unanswered.

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Students living at The Villas on 8 Apartments shared photos and videos with 41NBC showing a rodent, a snake and a lizard inside their units.
They say calls to property management and often go unanswered.
Makayla Arnold, a resident at the complex, said she recently discovered holes in her food and watched a rat run through her kitchen.
“I have really been scared to eat anything that’s in the kitchen,” Arnold said. “I don’t know what has a rat hole in it.”
Another student, Aaniyah Allen, said she watched a large rat dart across a unit while her roommates screamed. She also expressed concerns about the complex’s communication.
“They are horrible at communication,” Allen said. “It’s frustrating, because you ask them a question, and sometimes you just get ignored.”
Students told 41NBC the complex is privately owned and not affiliated with Fort Valley State University.
While on the property, a woman identifying herself as the site overseer declined to provide information and called police on us.
41NBC attempted to contact the complex and Fort Valley’s code enforcement office multiple times but has not received a response.
