Fort Valley Police respond to weekend shooting, investigation underway

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of E. Church St. in regards to a shooting that happened Saturday at 3:40 a.m. 

FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A person was shot on Saturday, according to Fort Valley Police Chief DJ Flores.

Deputies responded to the 1100 block of E. Church St. in regards to a shooting that happened July 27 at 3:40 a.m.

Deputies arrived on scene and were told by dispatch that victims were taken to Peach County Hospital. The victim told deputies that they were sitting in the breezeway when a white SUV circled the area and began firing at them.

The victim told deputies that as the SUV exited, shots were fired near the front of the apartment complex. One of the victims was shot in the arm.

The investigation is currently underway.
