Fort Valley Mayor Arrested for DUI
The Mayor of Fort Valley is out of jail on bond after being arrested for DUI.
According to the incident report, Mayor John Stumbo was found slumped over in the drivers seat on September 29. The officer who found him also found a bottle of Vodka in the passenger seat.
Stumbo’s blood alcohol level was .087. He was arrested and taken to the Monroe County Jail, where he was released on bond.
“I accept full responsibility for the terrible decision I made to consume alcohol and then drive,” Stumbo said in a statement. “I am sorry for the embarrassment I have brought upon my family and the city I love…I have always cherished the trust that the citizens of Fort Valley have placed in me over the past twelve years.”
