Fort Valley apartment complex catches fire, affecting several residents
The fire started early Wednesday morning at the College Square Apartments on 1200 Block of Edwards Street.
FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The American Red Cross has assisted at least 21 people after a fire broke out in a Fort Valley apartment complex.
That’s according to Red Cross Communications Manager Suzanne Lawler, who said they were on scene providing victims with emergency aid and offering recovery assistance.
The fire happened early Wednesday morning at College Square Apartments in the 1200 Block of Edwards Street.
Firefighters were on the scene for hours, working to put out flames and hot spots.
Police chief DJ Flores tells 41NBC 16 apartments were affected and 19 people were displaced.
