Forsyth teen stabbing was tied to business dispute; 4 charged, including 2 adults
Investigators say a teen was stabbed during a fight linked to a dispute over a COOGI bag and unpaid hair services.

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A teenage girl was hospitalized after a violent confrontation tied to an ongoing business dispute, according to the Forsyth Police Department.
According to Lt. Terence Thomas, the altercation began around six months ago when a 14-year-old girl from Forsyth allegedly took a bag from a 14-year-old girl in Hampton after she had provided hair services without receiving payment, which led her to take the Hampton teen’s COOGI bag.
On Monday night, the Hampton teen, accompanied by eight others—including her mother and the mother’s boyfriend—traveled to Forsyth to reclaim the bag. An argument started outside the home of the victim. Lt. Thomas says that during the confrontation, a 16-year-old girl from Griffin stabbed the Forsyth teen in the upper right corner of her chest. Additionally, a 14-year-old boy from Phenix City, Alabama, pulled out a gun during the conflict. Lt. Thomas says the victim’s parents heard the commotion and, after being threatened with the gun, quickly called police.
“When they heard the commotion, they came outside, but at that point, their daughter was already stabbed,” Lt. Thomas said. “Their normal thing was to get 911 out there, the father called 911.”
The group that had come to confront the victim fled the scene but officers quickly located them.
The injured victim was initially treated at Monroe County Hospital before being transferred to Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta. Lt. Thomas says parental involvement in their children’s lives is important.
“Be involved in your kids’ life,” he said. “Know what’s going on. That’s the number one thing that I would say.”
As the investigation continues, two adults—20-year-old Jomar Chandler and 32-year-old Zahier Miller—as well as the two teenage suspects, face multiple charges, including aggravated assault.
The teens are currently detained at the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center.
