Forsyth PD: Suspects caught after armed robbery

Three people were arrested after an armed robbery at 464 W. Main Street in Forsyth.

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Three people were arrested after an armed robbery at 464 W. Main Street in Forsyth on Tuesday, according to a Forsyth Police Department news release.

The release says Officer Taylor and Officer Rodriguez responded to an armed robbery. Officer Taylor arrived on scene and made contacts with the victims. The victims provided a detailed account of being robbed at gunpoint for money.

Dispatchers relayed information about the suspect’s vehicle to responding officers. Officer Rodriguez was en route to the scene and saw a vehicle leaving the area that matched the description of the suspect’s vehicle.

Officer Rodriguez conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with Christian Heath, Jamauri Johnson and a juvenile. The suspects’ descriptions corresponded with the occupants of the vehicle, leading to their arrests.

Police say a firearm stolen from a vehicle in Monroe County was also recovered from the vehicle, along with two other firearms and three ski masks.

The suspects’ charges include armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
