Forsyth leaders, Navicent Health determining who pays for sinkhole

FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A giant sinkhole is one Forsyth shopping plaza parking lot and the city isn’t sure who has to fix the problem.

City manager Janice Hall tells 41NBC, the sinkhole has been in the Navicent Health Diagnostics Center’s lot on North Lee Street for about a month and a half.

It’s not clear how it started.

City and Navicent attorneys are looking for paperwork to see if at anytime the city owned the property. If not, contractors estimate Navicent would need to pay more than $150,000 in repairs.

Hall says while businesses haven’t been affected, she’d like the problem fixed before it gets worse.
