Former Ivey police officer arrested on financial transaction card fraud charges

IVEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A former Ivey police officer has been arrested and charged with financial transaction card fraud, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Twenty-four-year-old Christopher Denaris Brown was charged with financial transaction card fraud and violation of oath of office.
The GBI says Brown is a former Ivey Police Department officer.
According to a news release, the Ivey Police Department requested the GBI to investigate the misuse of a City of Ivey credit card on April 13, 2025.
The investigation showed that Brown, who was hired in October 2025, used a City of Ivey credit card to purchase gasoline for his personal vehicle throughout the state of Georgia.
Brown is currently booked at the Wilkinson County Jail.
