Former Houston County teacher arrested on child molestation charges

According to the Houston County School District, Joshua Gabriel Wilson was a former music teacher at Miller Elementary School in Warner Robins.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A former Houston County teacher has been arrested for child molestation, according to the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

Joshua Gabriel Wilson was taken into custody on February 13, after an arrest warrant was issued for child molestation, with the charge stemming from an offense that happened in August of 2023, jail records show. Wilson was arrested at the Houston County Board of Education in Perry.

According to the Houston County School District, Wilson was a former music teacher at Miller Elementary School in Warner Robins.

Wilson appeared in Superior Court for his first appearance on February 14 at 4:51 p.m. Court records indicate he has been denied bond.

Wilson remains in custody, and further court proceedings are expected. Additional details regarding the investigation have not been disclosed.

The Houston County School District released the following statement on Wednesday:

“This person is no longer an employee of the Houston County School District and has not been on the campus of his former school since last semester. While we cannot discuss personnel matters and are limited in the information we can share, we are fully committed to the safety and well-being of our students. To that end, we have fully cooperated with local law enforcement as they continue to conduct their investigation of this former employee.”
