Former Dallas Cowboys QB Quincy Carter speaks at Middle Georgia FCA fundraiser

Quincy Carter, a former quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys and the Georgia Bulldogs, will be in Central Georgia this week to share his personal story during a special event hosted by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Middle Georgia FCA is hosting its annual fundraiser Friday, March 13 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Brickyard Golf Club. The event is free and open to the public, and lunch will be provided.

Carter will serve as the keynote speaker, sharing his journey from being a standout high school football player to competing at the highest levels of professional sports. After a successful college career at the University of Georgia, Carter went on to play in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys.

During the event, Carter will also speak about the challenges he faced after his playing career, including struggles with addiction and his path to recovery. Organizers say his story highlights the importance of faith, perseverance and second chances.

Today, Carter is giving back to the next generation as the head football coach at Heritage High School in Conyers, Georgia, where he mentors young athletes both on and off the field.

The fundraiser supports Middle Georgia FCA’s mission to reach local student-athletes and coaches with leadership development, mentorship and faith-based programs throughout the region.

Organizers encourage community members to attend and learn more about the organization’s impact in Middle Georgia.
