Former Bibb County Schools superintendent passes away

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Former Bibb County Schools Superintendent Dr. L Linton Deck Jr. passed away on July 3 in Asheville, North Carolina.

Deck served as the district’s superintendent from 1971 to 1973.

He died from a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease.

A memorial service will be held August 29, at the Givens Estates Chapel in Asheville. The service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Flower contributions can be sent to University of West Georgia Foundation Inc., 1601 Maple Street, Carrollton, Georgia 30118.
