67th Annual Food for Fare Event kicks off December 13th at the Macon Transit Authority
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – You can donate two cans of food for a free ride on a Macon Transit Authority Bus next week.
The annual Food for Fare Event will happen Wednesday December 13th to help Loaves & Fishes Ministry of Macon.
People can also donate four cans of food to get a free ride on the para-transit side.
There will be a box placed in front of each bus to collect the canned food and at the end of each trip the food will be taken to Loaves & Fishes.
A news release from the Macon Transit Authority said the Food for Fare Event started in 1950 in the basement of Tattnall Square Presbyterian Church.
