Flooding the main concern today

MACON, GA (41NBC/WMGT) – Good morning to everyone hope you all had a great weekend. This morning we have seen heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. This morning we have already seen 2-3 inches of rain. A flash flood warning is in effect for Bibb, Monroe, Jones, Houston, Peach, and Twiggs counties to see an additional 2-3 inches of rainfall. Overall not very impressed with today’s severe threat. There is a low threat for damaging winds and a lower chance for an isolated tornado. This biggest threat is the heavy rain that could lead to flooding. Today’s temperatures will be in the 60s. We will quit down by tomorrow. Another batch of rain is expected for the weekend. We will continue to monitor it for you on 41NBC.
