Flooding ongoing on I-16 west in Macon
MACON , Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Flooding is ongoing on the westbound lanes of I-16 from exit one to the I-75 interchange according to the GDOT map. Flooding is backing traffic up this morning so be sure to have a alternate route. A Flash flood warning is in place until 11am for additional rainfall. Remember to Turn around don’t drown!
UPDATE 8:18 I-16 is closed at Ocmulgee East Boulevard due to flooding in the westbound lanes. This is shown on the GDOT Cam below.
UPDATE 10:59 I-16 is now back open at Ocmulgee East Boulevard.
