Floatplane Plan on Lake Tobesofkee Denied

Bibb County commissioners made a final decision about the idea of floatplanes at Lake Tobosofkee Wednesday evening.

County Commissioners voted against floatplanes landing on the lake.
County Commission Chairman Sam Hart says he’s not sure how allowing planes on the lake would impact the master plan, but they could revisit the issue in the future.

“We’re still trying to get our arms around the study that was done…We want to make sure that we look at that master plan and pull some priorities out of it. And we did not want to have anything that we were doing that would work in opposition to that.”

Hart says board members heard both sides of the issue during the committee meeting, but they weren’t able to make a positive decision at this time.
