Flint Appliance Store in Warner Robins Closing
WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Flint Appliance Center on Houston Lake Road will be closing before April 30th, or until everything in the store has been sold.
According to a news release from Flint Energies, the closing of the store was done in the best interests of members going forward, even though Senior Vice President Jimmy Autry stated the store had done a good job weathering the economic downturn for more than four years.
“We had some very good years serving our members in the decade of the 2000’s, peaking in 2006,” said Autry, “but the market has not rebounded enough for us to continue.”
He also said the market for the appliance center had been constrained due to a legal ruling dictating the store only sell to members of Flint Energies.
“Houston County has been very good to the Flint Appliance Center,” said Autry, “Many of our members have taken advantage of the retail store, and even more new members walked into brand new homes outfitted with GE, Frigidaire and Samsung appliances because their builders chose the Flint Appliance Center.”
Autry also said the store will offer its final inventory to Flint Energies customers at reduced prices, and that the closing will have no impact on the finances of the not-for-profit company or its members.
