First-Ever Farm-to-Table Dinner Held at Armory Ballroom Promoting Clean Eating

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- A group in Middle Georgia is working to get fresh food to more people in the area, and Monday they raised money for that mission.

Community Health Works held the first “Farm to Table” dinner at the Armory Ballroom in downtown Macon.
On the menu: nothing but farm-grown, fresh food, including beef and pork options, fresh vegetables–all grown locally.

Organizers are excited about spreading the gospel of eating fresh to Middle Georgia.

“We actually sold out with the numbers that we expected,” says Project Manager Chris Kiker with Community Health Works. “So there’s a big demand for people who care about their food and understand the nutritious value of eating healthy, locally-grown food, and not processed food and we’re just trying to mainstream that into our Central Georgia community.”
