Firefighter Hit by Car, in Critical Condition

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A Macon-Bibb County firefighter is in critical condition at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. He was hit by a car as deputies and other fire fighters responded to a traffic accident this morning around 9:40 on I-75, near Sardis Church Road.

18 year old Nayef Mohammd Shroof of Warner Robins was identified as the person driving the car that hit the firefighter. The sheriff’s office says he also almost hit deputy.

The name of the firefighter has not been released, and the accident remains under investigation.
