Fire Prank Could Cause Employee Termination

Chief Marvin Riggins reached out to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office to help investigate the “Rookie Prank” that went viral on YouTube.

The video shows a hoax shooting, but both the Chief Riggins and Sheriff Jerry Modena confirm the gun used was fake.

“I am told the weapon was not a firearm. The sounds were that of a firecracker,” says Chief Riggins.

That sound sparked an investigation surrounding five senior firefighters, and two rookies. Early investigation by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office points the finger at a prank gone too far.

“We’re not talking about a criminal intent to violate Georgia law,” says Sheriff Modena.
