Fickling & Company real estate donates goods to Hurricane Irma victims
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Fickling & Company real estate company is reaching out to Hurricane Irma victims and helping them in their time of need.
“When we all saw on the television news reports, the devastation that happened with Hurricane Harvey earlier this month and of course followed by Hurricane Irma, everyone just knew that we wanted to give back,” says Con Browning Marketing Coordinator at Fickling & Company.
They collected non perishable food, toiletries, personal hygiene kits and many other items that people would need on a daily basis.
Browning says, “Several of our employees, agents and leadership teams were affected as well with power loss over several days. That still didn’t slow us down, we kept on bringing in items and monetary donations so that we could go out and purchase items.”
Now, they’re packing it up and donating it to The Salvation Army so it can be delivered to Florida.
“They’re going to be able to use this as the start for getting back to some normalcy in their life. Everything just sort of comes to a halt when these storms happen and this is a way to get them back on to that regular track,” says Major Andrew Gilliam who works for The Salvation Army.
Fickling & Company gives back to the community on a regular basis. They participate in an annual food bank drive where they give hundreds of pounds of food away.
