Ferro Appointed President/CEO Of Cherry Blossom Festival, Tickets Now On Sale
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Pinkest Party on Earth made several big announcements Monday morning in downtown Macon regarding this year’s Cherry Blossom Festival.
Tickets are now officially on sale for the 10 day event, which begins March 15th. Also, the Souvenir Shop, which is your one-stop-shop for everything official for the Cherry Blossom Festival is now open for your shopping pleasure. The shop is loaded with anything and everything you could want or imagine that revolves around the color pink. From license plates to T-shirts, coffee mugs to jewelry, and sunglasses to pink puppies (stuffed of course), the Souvenir Shop will get you ready for the party.
Even bigger news was the announcement that Interim President and CEO of the Cherry Blossom Festival, Jake Ferro, was appointed to become the new official President and CEO.
Ferro stepped in last October as interim, after then-President and CEO Richard Brewer resigned and moved back to South Carolina.
Ferro said he was honored to be given the new title, and promised to continue to keep the tradition of the festival alive.
“I didn’t realize until I did come on board as interim, how much the festival has meant to the middle Georgia area. Over 15 million dollars a year in economic impact…it’s a monumental event that has rippling effects throughout the state,” Ferro said.
Ferro added he is very focused on making sure to continue branding the Cherry Blossom Festival name, to continue to build its recognition across the country. He said that’s why it’s so important to have one shop where people can buy souvenirs to take home with them and continue to show off the name.
Tickets for the festival are available on a ‘first come, first served’ basis so you need to hurry up and place your orders. For complete ticket information, click on the Cherry Blossom Festival website or call 478-301-5470.
The Souvenir Shop is located in downtown Macon at 652 Mulberry Steet.
