VIDALIA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Federal Emergency Management Agency will hold a Housing Resource fair for Georgians impacted by Tropical Storm Debby or Hurricane Helene.

According to a news release, the event is happening in March 15, 2025 in Vidalia at the EMA/EMS building located at 509 Maple Drive.

Survivors will be able to speak with federal, state, and local agencies about the help and resources they qualify for. Depending on your situation, that could include affordable housing options and rental assistance programs.

Information on the HEARTS Georgia Sheltering Program and U.S. Small Business Administration loans will also be available. Representatives from local housing organizations, landlords, and property managers will attend and meet with survivors.

FEMA Federal Coordinating Officer Kevin Wallace says it’s a chance for those in need to one-on-one attention: “We want survivors to know we are here for them and want to see the best outcome, which is moving into safe, sanitary and functioning housing,” he said. “We will walk them through their options to ensure they are aware of the resources that are available to fit their need.”

The agency says this event is open to everyone, whether they’ve applied for FEMA assistance or not.
