Federal Judge dismisses complaints, Judge Reeves remains on Whipple-Lue vs Concerned Citizens’ case

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – At a hearing today, a magistrate judge dismissed the criminal complaints filed against the judge handling the civil case between the Concerned Citizens of Gordon and Mayor Mary Ann Whipple-Lue.

The complaints filed are in response to Judge Robert Reeves’ decision to grant a second temporary restraining order against Whipple-Lue.

President and C.E.O. of the The Justice League United, Inc. Bobby Worthy believes Reeves overstepped his authority when he issued another restraining order against Whipple-Lue.

During the hearing, Judge Charles Weigle questioned Worthy on his background as a citizen-whether or not he was connected to the case, or if he was part of law enforcement.

Weigle also gave examples of other federal cases that which led to his own determination that the complaints should be dismissed.

Worthy filed using U.S. Title 18, sec. 241 as his argument. 

Weigle says no citizen has a right to issue a criminal prosecution.

“At this time I cannot entertain your complaints,” Weigle says, “They will be dismissed.”

On Monday, Worthy said he and more than 50 Whipple-Lue supporters filed more than 60 other complaints at the Georgia Judicial Qualifications Commission’s office in Madison.

The additional complaints filed at the JQC seek that Reeves be “removed from office immediately and brought up on criminal charges.”

Worthy plans to file more criminal complaints with the F.B.I. and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
