Federal and State attorneys address sex trafficking

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Sex Trafficking law enforcement says it is a growing problem, and they are determined to put an end to it. Not just in Middle Georgia, but in all communities across U.S.

Georgia Attorney General, Sam Olens wants sex trafficking to come to an end and he’s dedicated to protecting Georgia’s children.

Olens was joined by U.S. Attorney, Michael Moore at a summit which focused on preventing the sexual exploitation of children.

Moore belives sex trafficking can end across the country if everyone were to do their part.

“There’s a real chance for people in this community to make a difference,” said Moore. “That is pick one child and mentor that one child let them know somebody cares about them.”

An upcoming workshop for anyone who works with children, such as social workers and middle school counselors.

The Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children Conference is scheduled for June, 19, from 9:30 a. m., until 4:30 p. m.,at Hephzibah Ministries Inc., located at 6601 Zebulon Road, in Macon.
