Fatal Macon House Fire Ruled Accidental

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon house fire that killed three children and left one critically injured, has been ruled accidental.

According to state fire marshal spokesperson Glen Allen, fire marshal officials returned to the home on James Street Tuesday morning with an accelerant detector dog. Insurance inspectors surveyed the home before boarding up the front door. The fire sparked early Sunday morning in one bedroom before spreading to the rest of the house, killing 10-year-old Nykhia Williams, 7-year-old Daijia Williams and 9-year-old Jamarrian Williams.

Macon-Bibb Fire Chief Marvin Riggins said investigators are not sure where the children’s mother, Colethia Williams, was when the flames started. Outside of the home, a memorial for the three children continues to grow.

Adam said the cause of the blaze still hasn’t been determined.
