Fatal accident in South Macon

MACON, Goergia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a fatal accident that happened on the corner of Houston and Allen roads around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday.

According to a news release, 71-year-old Donna Hyatt was traveling in the left lane of Houston Road heading south behind a Mack dump truck.

Witnesses say Hyatt switch lanes to move ahead of the dump truck when she unexpectedly turn left colliding with the truck driven by 55-year-old Terry Howard. When the vehicles came to a stop the dump truck was flipped on its side and its load on Hyatt’s Nissan Altima.

Hyatt was pronounced dead at the scene, her passenger 69-year-old Ann McCallum and Howard, was taken to a local hospital.

McCallum is listed in stable condition. Howard’s condition is unknown.
