Fatal Accident in Laurens County

Two people are dead after a car crash in Laurens County.

45 year old Albert Nicholson was driving his van south on Fountain Road towards GA Hwy 126 around 2:30 Tuesday afternoon, when he ran a stop sign and crashed into a flat bed truck, driven by 23-year old Stephen Welch.

According to Georgia State Trooper David Bryant, Nicholson and his passenger, 39 year old Juan Walker, were pronounced dead on the scene.

Welch was taken to Fairview Park Hospital where he was treated for non life threatening injuries.

The accident is still under investigation.
