Fatal car accident on Eisenhower Parkway slows down traffic

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) A woman has died after being involved in a car accident on a major Macon road.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office says 68-year-old Gloria Holmes ran a red light at the intersection of Eisenhower Parkway and Broadway around 4:00 Wednesday afternoon.

An empty logging tractor trailer collided into Holmes’ Chevrolet Malibu.

Holmes was taken to Medical Center Navicent Health, but died a short time later. Authorities say the truck driver was not hurt.

Traffic was slowed down in the area for a couple of hours.
