Family-owned business offers wine tours that feature local wineries

Shonnase Woods says there are currently 11 wineries that are available on the tours, and a 12th location is pending.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A Middle Georgia family is turning their love of wine into a business that features local wineries and provides tours for locals to enjoy.

Shonnase and Jocelyn Woods, owners of Middle Georgia Wine Excursions, began their business three years ago. The couple moved from Tennessee to Georgia and were eager to experience the wineries in Middle Georgia. After touring various wineries and showing a friend around, they decided to open their own business.

Shonnase Woods says there are currently 11 wineries that are available on the tours, and a 12th location is pending.

Middle Georgia Wine Excursions offers three different tours on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for those who are 21-years-old or up. Patrons will get picked from their home or a set location and then taken to local wineries.

Jocelyn Woods says they offer charcuterie boards for patrons, which are crafted by local vendors. Woods say the best charcuterie boards have meats, cheeses and crackers paired with wine.
