Family Hospice opens Dublin office to serve veterans and families in need of end-of-life care
Family Hospice expands to Dublin to serve the area's large veteran population and provide compassionate care for patients and families navigating end-of-life decisions.

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Many families face difficult decisions when it comes to hospice care. To help meet that need, Family Hospice is opening a new office in the Dublin area.
The newly appointed CEO, Charles Hall, says the large veteran population in Dublin made it the right place to expand their services.
“A core part of our mission is serving veterans near their end of life,” he said. “And we thought that it made a lot of sense for us to move into that market to be able to serve the Dublin area.”
Hall says when families reach the point of needing hospice, it can be difficult. He offered words of encouragement for those who may be unsure.
“It’s an incredible amount of support,” he said. “That allows people to have as many good days as possible. And you know, we’re passionate about getting that message out to people. Hospice is a benefit, it’s a Medicare benefit that if people qualify for, it can give a peace of mind and comfort for families and patients.”
Patsy Thomas, who used Family Hospice for her father, says her dad’s favorite song was Mercy Walked In by Bill and Gloria Gaither, and that’s exactly how she felt about Family Hospice.
“I was so upset about him being put on hospice,” she said. “I thought it was a death sentence. But when Scott and Hailey walked into my daddy’s house, mercy walked in. It began when they walked in. They were the hands and feet of Jesus for my family. That’s what hospice was. It was not hospice—they were being the hands and feet of Jesus to my family.”
Thomas says Family Hospice truly lives up to its name.
“They treated you like family,” she said. “They didn’t throw hospice in your face all the time—they loved you, they hugged you. She kissed my daddy on the head, and he died saying she was his angel. And I would only allow this group for my family anytime.”
