Family continues Memaw’s legacy with the 7th Annual Feed the Veterans Community Feeding

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The 7th Annual Memaw’s Feed the Veterans Community Feeding is tomorrow, but this is the first year that Memaw won’t be there after passing away a year ago.

The family is continuing her legacy though. Memaw’s Restaurant, off Mumford Road, will be giving away free hot food beginning at noon. There will be pulled turkey, dressing, and green beans.

“She was a great and powerful woman in this community and she didn’t back down. Everyone knows, when you got Memaw on your side, you got a real fighter on your side,” her husband Richard Lockett said.

Memaw’s will also be giving away free groceries, along with health screenings at the church across the street.
