False report leads to arrest after hit and run

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A man is in custody after injuring a pedestrian and filing a false police report, according to the Warner Robins Police Department.
Just before 12:30 a.m. on May 7, officers responded to the call at Russell Parkway and Booth Road. Police say the driver had already fled the scene and left debris behind.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and listed in stable condition.
While officers were investigating the crash, Tamarious Head called 911 to report a crash involving another car at a separate location.
After that call, investigators matched damage on Head’s car to debris left at behind after colliding with a pedestrian. His car also matched the description of the suspect vehicle. Head was arrested and faces multiple charges:
- Making a false report
- Serious injury by vehicle
- Duty to report an accident
