Fake pain pills blamed for overdose outbreak in Warner Robins

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Warner Robins Police Department is suspecting seven people overdosed on fake Percocet pills in Houston County in the past 48 hours.

Police issued a public alert Tuesday afternoon, warning that the pills left patients unresponsive and barely breathing. At this time, no deaths have been reported, but many patients are on ventilators.

Jennifer Parson at the Warner Robins Police Department says the pills are different than the fake Percocet pills that killed four people in June.

“This pill itself is white in color. It looks a lot like Percocet. It’s thicker than the actual Percocet and it has a glossier surface, but I believe before we reported that the pill was actually yellow. This is a different strain,” Parson said.

Police believe they were obtained on the street.

According to the Warner Robins Police Department, the victims are between the ages of 25-60.

If anyone has any information about the fake drug,  contact the Warner Robins Police Department at 478-302-5380 or Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
