F-15 Aircraft May Greet Drivers Near Warner Robins-Centerville Exit Off I-75

A new landmark may soon greet drivers traveling down I-75 near Warner Robins.

The Warner Robins Mayor and Council voted to move $30,000 from their tourism fund in order to help bring in a restored F-15 aircraft as a landmark for the city. It would be right off the Warner Robins-Centerville exit.

An additional $50,000 is needed to complete the project, which according to the project manager, will come from bids by outside contractors. Boeing has even expressed interest in pledging some money to get the plane to its new home.

Councilman Paul Shealy says, this plane is a symbol of the camaraderie between the city of Warner Robins and Robins Air Force Base.
