Erickson Resigns Macon City Council Seat

Macon City Councilman Erick Erickson announced his resignation Wednesday through a letter to Macon Mayor Robert Reichert, and City Council President Miriam Paris. Erickson has served the citizens of ward 5 in North Macon, for just over 3 years now.

This past year, he became a regular commentator for CNN, and started hosting a show on WSB radio in Atlanta. Erickson stopped by 41 NBC Wednesday afternoon to talk about his decision.

Erickson says, “It was just an opportunity I couldn’t turn down, I wasn’t going to run again, have 8 or 9 months left in term, and when they asked me if I wanted a prime time radio show on the most listened to station in America, yeah I couldn’t turn that down.”
