Equal Opportunity Hot Topic At Macon City Council

MACON, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – The pressing issue of equal opportunity work made its way back to Macon City Council Monday night. 

“We as a city ought to be embarrassed that we don’t do more business with our local folks,” said Council Member Elaine Lucas.  

Lucas is one of many members concerned with the city’s efforts to employ local minorities and women. The issue remains particularly important because of SPLOST projects looming around the corner.
