Elliott’s Team Make Engine Change, Must Race Into 500 In Today’s Dual Races
DAYTONA BEACH, FL – Dawsonville’s Bill Elliott NEMCO Motorsports team found a motor issue in his #97 Toyota after Wednesday’s practice for today’s Dual Qualifying races and had to make a motor change.
Elliott will have to start at the rear of the field in his dual race and must race his way into Sunday’s Daytona 500. However, if past Cup Champion Terry Labonte races his way in, Elliott can use his Past Champion provisional to make the field.
NEMCO team owner Joe Nemechek will also be trying to race his way into the 500 in the same dual race as Elliott. Both are experts at superspeedway drafting and will certainly work together to get both NEMCO cars to the front and into the Daytona 500.
