Elderly Man Found Dead in Downtown Macon Apartment
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones is urging everyone to check on their neighbors regularly, after an elderly man was found dead in his downtown Macon apartment.
Coroner Jones says 71-year-old Max McFarland’s body was badly decomposed. Jones says he was last seen on April 5th when he bought a key from the resident manager of the Dempsy Apartments. McFarland’s body was discovered Thursday by a Meals on Wheels worker. Jones added the death does appear to be from natural causes.
Jones says this isn’t the first time he’s responded to the Dempsy Apartments at 523 Cherry Street for a call of a deceased person who’s been there for a while, and he’s asking everyone to just look out for their neighbors, and check on them often.
