Eight people displaced after house fire on Bloomfield Road in Macon
According to the Macon-Bibb County Fire Department, the fire started in a laundry room located outside the home at 5986 Bloomfield Road.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Eight people, including four children, are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross after a house fire Monday evening on Bloomfield Road in Macon.
Fire officials say the fire was accidental. Investigators have not determined an exact cause, but the dryer could not be ruled out as a possible factor.
Everyone inside the home was able to escape safely, and no injuries were reported.
The fire caused smoke and water damage throughout the home.
The American Red Cross says volunteers with its Disaster Action Team responded to the scene to assist the family. The organization provided direct assistance and recovery planning to help the eight people affected by the fire meet their immediate disaster-related needs.
The Red Cross says home fires are the most common disaster it responds to nationwide.
