Eastwood And Production Wrap Up At Luther Williams Field
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Luther Williams Field is returning back to normal now that Clint Eastwood and the production crews for “Trouble With The Curve” have left.
Crews were busy in Friday morning’s rain clearing out tents and props used for Thursday night’s shoot.
Eric Barnes is a Maconite who was chosen to be an extra for the filming. He says he and the other extras had to stand in the dugout in their Rome Braves uniforms, and act disappointed because they had just lost their baseball game.
“It was pretty cool,” Barnes explains. “He (Eastwood) was probably 20 or 30 feet from us. He walked out in front of us a couple of times…pretty nice guy. He smiled and waved and seemed to be friendly. But we didn’t get to talk to him.”
Barnes was also chosen to be in an extra scene with Eastwood. The scene has Eastwood and another player walking out of the stadium, and past Barnes and a couple of other extras standing in their street clothes. Barnes says he was close enough to Eastwood he could have reached out to touch him, but he refrained.
Barnes was at Luther Williams Field shooting the scenes until about 1:00a.m. Friday. He says it was fun being able to see a star like Eastwood up close and personal.
