Movie night set for Friday at Eastman City Park

Byron residents invited to enjoy family-friendly evening with food and entertainment

EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The City of Eastman will host a movie night this Friday at Eastman City Park, located at 11th Avenue and Oak Street. The event features several family-friendly activities and concludes with an outdoor showing of The LEGO Movie.

Festivities begin at 7:30 p.m. and include a petting zoo, bouncy house, helicopter display, and on-site food vendor. The movie will begin at 9:00 p.m.

City officials are encouraging all residents to attend and familiarize themselves with the following safety rules and restrictions:

• All people and belongings entering the event area are subject to search.

• Children must be accompanied by an adult.

• No alcohol, tobacco, vapes, drugs, or drug paraphernalia.

• No pets allowed.

• No weapons or dangerous items including firearms, knives, bats, or pepper spray.

• No explosives, fireworks, or laser pointers.

• No glass containers.

• No drones or other unmanned aerial devices.

• No clothing or signs displaying explicit language or offensive content.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, lawn chairs, and insect repellent. Phones and electronic devices should be silenced during the film.

As a thank you for attending, the City of Eastman will provide a free meal to the first 200 guests. Each attendee may redeem one meal consisting of a hamburger or chicken tenders, a side of fries, and a canned soda from the food vendor. Additional food items will also be available for purchase.

Officials ask that all guests observe posted rules for each activity.
