Early voting underway in Georgia
People across Macon-Bibb were eager to cast their votes Tuesday morning.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — Tuesday is the first day of early voting in Georgia for the upcoming November election. People across Macon-Bibb were eager to cast their votes Tuesday morning.
The Elaine Lucas Senior Center had a long line when polls opened at 8:30 am.
“The sooner I vote, then I can encourage our friends and relatives,” Herbert Dennard said.
Gwendolyn Addams, who was among the first in line to vote, expressed her excitement to vote as well.
“I wanted to be the first one here, but that’s OK,” she said. “I’m still here, and my vote will count.”
Tom Gillion, the Board of Elections Supervisor at the Macon-Bibb Board of Elections, reminded voters to bring a photo ID while heading out to vote.
Voters can cast their ballots early at the Macon-Bibb Board of Elections Office at Macon Mall, the Elaine Lucas Senior Center and at Theron Ussery Community Center.
Early voting will continue until November 1. Election day is November 5. The voting centers will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on most days, with extended hours on select dates.
