Early voting for July 26 runoff election begins

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Early voting for the July 26th runoff election started Tuesday.

Macon’s Terminal Station is open for the second time as an early voting precinct.

The polling manager, Barbara White, said a handful of people came in early Tuesday morning.

She thinks the new location has been a great addition to the county’s early voting system.

“I think more people are going to come out, especially in November, because of the comments we got the last time. They like this location. It’s cooler, easier to get in and out of,” explained White.

White said she had to turn some people away because they didn’t live in runoff districts and weren’t eligible to vote.

You can only vote if you live in the Macon-Bibb Commission District 6 or Bibb County Board of Education District 5 or 6.

Runoff races in Bibb County are listed below:

Macon-Bibb County Commission District 6

  1. Joe Allen
  2. Ed Defore

Bibb County Board of Education District 5

  1. James Timley
  2. Sundra Woodford

Bibb County Board of Education District 6

  1. Bob Easter
  2. Valerie Wynn

There won’t be a Saturday early voting day.

Early voting ends July 22.
