Early Morning Shooting Leaves One Dead, MPD Investigate 4th Homicide this Week
A fight at the Whiskey River Sports Bar early Friday morning may have led to the killing of a Macon man.
This killing makes it the 4th homicide in Macon in less than a week.
20 year old Anthony Harris, Jr. died from a single gun shot in the stomach. Police found Harris lying next to his car in the parking lot.
According to Coroner Leon Jones, Harris was pronounced dead at 2:26am at the Medical Center of Central Georgia.
According to police the suspect is in his early to mid-20’s and around 5’6” tall. Witnesses also told police the suspect has a stocky build and was seen leaving the scene in a newer model silver Toyota Camry.
“We know that he probably answers to the name “Xavier”, and said something in the course of the evening something like ‘I just got back from the desert,’ which leads us to believe that perhaps there is a military background,” says Macon Police Spokesperson Jami Gaudet.
