Dublin Veterans Day Program honors those who served

DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Citizens in Dublin took an hour out of their day to say thanks to those who protect our nation.

A large crowd  packed the auditorium at the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center for its Veterans Day program. It was an opportunity to honor vets and active duty military members for their service.

Students also learned the impact the Tuskegee Airmen, who fought during World War II, had on our country.

“I think they will gain an appreciation for what they sacrificed to make it possible for them to go to school freely today and in peace and harmony,” Willis Jones, the president of the Maj. Gen. Joseph A. McNeil Chapter of Tuskegee Airmen Inc. said.

Officials also unveiled a road plaque in honor of the Tuskegee Airman.
