Dublin organization holds annual breast cancer walk virtually
DUBLIN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The COVID-19 pandemic could not stop an annual breast cancer walk in Dublin. Organizers behind the annual “3-Mile Walk for the Cure!” decided to hold a virtual walk instead.
On Saturday, October 17th, event participants could walk three miles wherever they were that morning. Walkers then posted a photo to social media using the hashtag #dstdlac_breastcancerwalk. Walkers were encouraged to choose a safe location, maintain social distance and wear a mask.
The Dublin-Laurens Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. organized the 11th annual walk.
41NBC anchors Shelby Coates and Amanda Corna also took part in this event.
